Choosing Custom Shirts in Houston: A Buyer’s Checklist
The right custom-shirt order starts with the purpose of the apparel. A logo shirt for a small business, a personal graphic and a promotional giveaway can all use printing, but they need different garment, artwork and quantity decisions.
Share an approximate quantity and your needed date. Artwork can be uploaded with your request.

Define the use and the wearers
Write down who will wear the shirts, how often and in what setting. Daily crew apparel may need a different fit or garment specification from a one-time celebration. Include any workplace requirements before choosing a blank.
Compare the actual model, fabric, size availability and color choices. Ask for product information or a sample if fit and feel will determine the decision. A photograph on a website cannot answer every garment question.
Compare the full printing scope
List the front, back and sleeve artwork and its intended size. Send the clearest original file available, not only a screenshot of a mockup. Tell the printer whether the design is ready or needs preparation.
Ask what method is included and whether it is suitable for the selected garment. Do not assume every shop offers embroidery, screen printing or an identical transfer product. Verify the specific services rather than relying on an unsupported ranking of local providers.
Decide whether a graphic shirt is worth the cost
Value depends on the intended use, garment choice, print and the number of wears you expect. An employee identification shirt and a personal tribute have different purposes. Compare the finished specification with your goal rather than a universal claim that every custom shirt is worth the same amount.
For a first business order, an approximate quantity is enough to begin a quote. A complete size list and checked artwork are needed before production. Keep your approved details for replacements and new-hire orders.
Check price, timing and communication
Use a written quote that identifies the garment, quantities, included print locations and any additional work. For standard G5000 shirts, compare against the approved quantity schedule; different garments and extras require separate pricing.
Share the in-hand deadline and confirm the production arrangement before relying on it. Ask how artwork approval, changes and local pickup will be handled. Judge a provider by verified work and the actual order details rather than invented reviews or guaranteed turnaround claims.
